According to SE Ranking's tracking data from over 101,000 websites with Google Analytics installed, Google Gemini's referral traffic achieved an explosive growth of approximately 115% from November 2025 to January 2026. It grew 51% in December and 42% in January, with a speed that has caught the industry's attention.

More notably, by January 2026, the referral traffic sent by Gemini globally was 29% more than Perplexity, with the gap reaching 41% in the U.S. market. Just five months earlier in August 2025, Perplexity's referral traffic was three times that of Gemini.
