This is the most important new attribute. It uses IPTC digital source enumeration values to identify how content was created, with Google supporting two values:

  • TrainedAlgorithmicMediaDigitalSource — Content created by trained models (such as LLMs)
  • AlgorithmicMediaDigitalSource — Content created by simple algorithmic processes (such as automated reply bots)

This attribute is currently recommended rather than required, and applies to content types like forum posts, comments, questions, and answers.

commentCount: Comment Count

The new commentCount attribute allows websites to declare the total number of comments on a post or answer, even if not all comments are displayed on the page. This helps Google better understand the popularity of discussions.

Expanded sharedContent Support

The sharedContent attribute in forum structured data now supports more content types:

  • WebPage (shared links)
  • ImageObject (image-focused posts)
  • VideoObject (video-focused posts)
